Welcome To The Web Academy Program!
Web Academy

The Web Academy initiative is being created to enable nonprofit organizations to take a hands on approach for the design and development of their web site. The goal of the Web Academy program is to ensure that every nonprofit that wants a web site can have one, as long as they are willing to invest the time. The Web Academy program will initially consist of the following components and services:

The Web Academy Knowledge Base contains useful information for each of the services listed below. If you have a question about the Web Academy program and can't find the answer look here. The Web Master Tools section contains links to free and trial (limited to 30 days of use before you have to pay for it) web design tools.

Click here to view a quick tutorial on how to navigate the knowledge base. The tutorial will help ensure that you get the most out of these tools.

Web Site Planning. This initiative will consist of a series of tutorials and lessons that are aimed at taking a novice through all of the steps required to plan a new web site or update an existing web site. In order to be able to utilize any of the other services in the Web Academy program, this course is a prerequisite and must be completed first. The lessons will include, but are not limited to, needs analysis, content writing, design expectations and web hosting choices.

The goal of this series of tutorials is to enable you to determine which path is best to build and maintain a web site.

Create A Template Based Web Site. This service will allow you to select a template, add content and publish the web site without having any HTML, Java or other web programming knowledge. In addition to the web site planning prerequisite listed above, a course will be created that covers the usage of the template system.

Web Design Courses. These courses are beginner to advanced level courses for leading web design tools including Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Adobe Go Live and Microsoft Front Page.
Web Site Add-Ons. This course will teach you how to incorporate the following types of functionality: Forums, subscription services, online contributions, tell a friend form, search engine and more.

Web Design Services. We will work with your organization to custom build a web site for you through our Custom Design Program.

Web Design Gallery. Do you need a new look and feel for your current web site? These templates will allow you to give your site a new look in a short period of time.

The Web Academy Knowledge Base, Web Design Courses, Services and Gallery sections are updated on a regular basis, so check back frequently. If you would like to be notified when any of these resources are updated, subscribe to our newsletter.
